What began as a shared dream between two families has grown into Embers & Oak. We each bring different talents, perspectives, and life experiences, but we share the same passion: welcoming people with genuine hospitality and creating a beautiful place where life's most meaningful moments can be celebrated for generations.
We’ve called Pawleys Island home for many years, and somewhere along the way, we realized there really isn’t anywhere else we’d rather be. Between our four children, two grandsons, and two very spoiled dogs, life is rarely quiet, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
We love being outside and making the most of where we live. You’ll usually find us on the golf course, out on the boat, enjoying a day at the beach, or gathering with family and friends. We’re also NC State season ticket holders, and fall Saturdays in Raleigh are some of our favorite days of the year. Our tailgate has become a special tradition, and we love welcoming friends, old and new, to eat, laugh, and cheer on the Wolfpack.
For us, Embers & Oak is a reflection of the things we love most: family, friendship, the outdoors, and bringing people together. We wanted to create a place that feels beautiful without feeling stuffy, where you can celebrate something important and still feel completely at home.
We believe the best celebrations aren’t just about the big moments, but about the people you share them with. If we can create a setting where people can gather, laugh, celebrate, and make memories together, then we’ve done what we set out to do.
This year, we’ll celebrate 28 years of marriage, and through all those years, the things that have mattered most have remained the same: faith, family, hospitality, and a love for the places we call home.
We raised our family on a ranch in the woods of northern Michigan, where our children grew up surrounded by the outdoors and learned to appreciate the simple beauty of nature and the joy of being together.
Today, we’re grateful to call Georgetown County home. We’ve fallen in love with the rivers, the beach, the moss-draped oaks, and the warmth of the Lowcountry.
After celebrating the weddings of both our children, we found ourselves wanting to create a place where others could experience that same joy: a place to gather, celebrate, slow down, and make memories that become part of a family’s story.
And so, Embers & Oak was born.
These days, life is full of even more to celebrate as we enjoy time with our granddaughter and eagerly await the arrival of our grandson. We hope Embers & Oak becomes a place where your family feels as welcome as ours.
We can’t wait to welcome you.
